Who are we
In Montussan, between Bordeaux, Libourne and Saint Emilion, Vignoble Maulin benefit from a magnificent terroir which gives these wines their roundness, generosity and structure. In 1990, Éric Maulin took over the family estate and gradually shaped the vineyard, starting with the soil. Éric follows a natural approach to winemaking and has been applying sustainable agriculture plot by plot since 1990, HVE since vintage 2019 (High Environmental Value). The modernised winery combines technology (temperature control, etc...) and tradition (long maceration, natural yeasts for red wine etc...). He is attentive to the vine, bringing it only its needs. He practices low yields to obtain a better quality of fruit. He also seeks to constantly renew himself by offering “micro-cuvées”. On the Château Freyneau, everything is a story of know-how for several generations. We take care of the whole process : from production to distribution, the main thing being to make the wine we love ! The vineyard represents about 53 hectares. We produce a range of white, rosé and red wines.
