JIELDE
Who are we
In the late 1940s, frustrated by the lack of suitable lighting for his mechanical work, Jean-Louis Domecq designed a lamp to meet his needs. By 1950, the design was finalized, perfectly fulfilling his requirements: simple, sturdy, and articulated to adapt to any workstation. The next two years were dedicated to industrializing its production, and in 1953, he founded a company to market his now-iconic lamp. The company was named after his initials: Ji eL Dé. Jieldé's stylish lamps quickly gained popularity for their modernity and industrial aesthetic. Over time, the design has continuously evolved to meet new standards and is now available as wall sconces, ceiling lights, and desk lamps. Still handcrafted in Lyon using traditional techniques, each lamp is individually numbered, ensuring its uniqueness. Today, Jieldé lamps are recognized as true icons of French industrial art.
