Who are we

A History Written through the Centuries The Domaine Terres de Sable is a wine estate established in Aigues-Mortes, south of the Rhône-to-Sète canal. The landscape is predominantly composed of vineyards and maritime pines.The vines are bordered by «roubines» (small irrigation channels). Terres de Sable is mapped on plans dating back to 1809, and its history can be traced back to the 16th century, making it one of the oldest estates in the Petite Camargue region. The origins of the Domaine are tied to the presence of navigable waterways in the area. On its land, there is a well from the Roman era, highlighting the passage of people who stopped there on their way along the salt route. Archaeological excavations in the 1960s unearthed gold and silver coins dating back to the year 223. Navigators from Greece and the West approached the Languedoc coastline through the lagoons, which were more hospitable than the sandy shores. Goods were transported through trade posts and docks,such as those atTerres de Sable. These silt-rich lands were referred to by the ancients as the «rognon» of Aigues- Mortes, a term synonymous with an exceptional estate. The vineyard produces high-quality wines that are characteristic of the Sable de Camargue terroir. Historically, the production has always been bottled and sold under the Domaine’s name and on-site. The estate and the Terroir Rooted in the Heart of the Camargue,an ExceptionalTerroir,DomaineTerres de Sable has been cultivating the art of organic farming for 26 years. The estate spans 27 hectares, including 2 hectares of newly planted vines, flourishing on sandy soils.This unique terroir gives our wines a fresh and delicately saline aromatic palette, truly reflecting our land. In 2019, after studies in oenology and driven by a deep passion, I took over the management of the estate. Today, we form a close-knit and enthusiastic team, consisting of an agricultural worker, a tractor driver, a sales representative, and myself, the winemaker. We produce several wines, with a specialty in enhancing Grenache Gris, the emblematic grape of the sands. With creativity and expertise, we explore all its forms to reveal its full aromatic richness and elegance. Each bottle produced at Domaine Terres de Sable tells a story : that of meticulous work, an unwavering love for our land, and a profession that is much more than a vocation.
