MAISON LABASTIDE

Who are we

The Labastide de Lévis Cooperative Winery was founded in 1949 in the heart of the Gaillac vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in France. Our terroir, located in the heart of Occitania, benefits from a dual climatic influence: oceanic and Mediterranean. The mild oceanic climate reduces the risk of frost and ensures optimal water supply for the vines. The Mediterranean heat in summer and autumn, intensified by the Autan wind, ensures good ripening of the grapes. Initiated in 2002 with sustainable agriculture, Maison Labastide's ambition is to implement agro-environmental production techniques to preserve biodiversity, and protect the health of its members, employees, and consumers. 98% of our farms are certified HVE 3, and 15% of our vineyards are certified Organic by Ecocert. Thanks to the richness of its terroirs and the uniqueness of its local grape varieties, Maison Labastide offers a wide range of wines of extraordinary diversity, respectful of both the environment and people. With the organic wines ""Les Fées Nature,"" the winemakers of Maison Labastide produce wines of high quality standards, from a production method that respects both people and the environment. The wine, derived from work on its vineyard plots (untreated grapes, low yields) and in our winemaking cellars (separate aging, traceability), is resolutely modern and concentrated, sure to appeal to enthusiasts seeking typicity and balance. Sparkling wine is a part of the Tarn wine culture. Maison Labastide offers sparkling wines produced through natural fermentation and parcel selection. Made exclusively from pressed white grapes, Labastide Brut is vinified using the traditional method. The controlled fermentation at low temperature continues in the bottle for a minimum of 9 months. Maison Labastide also offers lightly sparkling wines. As the inventor of Perlé in 1957, it has the expertise and technical mastery in the creation of Perlants Légers, young wines aged on lees. The Philippe Issaly estate was created by his grandmother. Today, 27 hectares of vines thrive in the clay-limestone soils of the Cordais plateau. Château Issaly Rouge, HVE certified, is a 100% Gaillac wine made from a grape variety native to the Tarn, Duras. As proof of the dynamism of the winery, we also present Les Bardets Rouge and Blanc. These low-sulfur wines are made from 80% organic grapes.
