Who are we

Château de Bouchassy wines arise from the passion and conviction of the Degoul family to innovate and create unique tastes based on fundamental values such as tradition, authenticity and quality. From generation to generation the Degoul family has cultivated the knowledge of the earth. Their know-how and a unique soils types have made the Château de Bouchassy a mainstay of the Lirac appellation. In 1973, the great grandfather Lucien DEGOUL and son bought the 28 hectares vineyard property. The grandson, Gérard DEGOUL, qualified as an oenologist, considered marketing the property wine in bottles. A true success because in 1978 he won a gold medal at the Paris agricultural show for his first vintage. Thanks to his involvement and passion, he was one of the LIRAC label pioneers to enthusiastically promote this three colours vintage. Since 2010, his wife and their children Nicolas & Marie-Cécile have taken over the management of the estate, carrying on the family tradition with love.
