Who are we

Champagne Guy de Chassey is located in Louvois, recognized for its 100% Grand Cru classified vineyard (only 17 Champagne villages have received such a classification label). It is Ingrid who perpetuates the traditions and know-how of her long line of winegrowers. She has created a collection of champagnes, contemporary and full of character, both Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Always with a smile. The vineyards are located in the Montagne de Reims and are exposed South, South-East on a clay-sandstone soil. We farm 9.5 hectares that we have maintained in the family for over 7 generations. The first two generations were winegrowers; From the third, we started to make the wine and first created the brand Lucien Beaufort. Since then, the Know-How has been transmitted generation after generation and the brand has changed to Champagne Guy de Chassey. Today, Marie-Odile de Chassey and her daughter Ingrid perpetuate this beautiful story but in the feminine! We farm two grape varieties in our vineyards: 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. We are grower-producers (we grow the grapes, harvest and make the wine ourselves) and independent winemakers. Vineyards: Part of our vineyard is now covered with grass, to avoid the use of herbicides, and we plough the soil of almost all our farmland. We received the level 3 HVE certification. (High Environmental Value) Regarding the protection of the vineyard, we reason all our practices in order to preserve the quality of the soil, water, air and wildlife to better protect the environment. Press: We work with a vertical wooden press, which allows us a more gentle and qualitative extraction of the grapes. Vats: The alcoholic fermentation takes place in our stainless-steel vats with thermoregulation. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, generally around 18°C, which gives us wines of great aromatic finesse. We do not proceed with malolactic fermentation, keeping the freshness, fruit and enables an interesting aging potential. Cellar: The riddling of the bottles is carried out exclusively by hand.
