BRASSERIE PIETRA

Region: Corse

Who are we

Brasserie Pietra was founded in 1996 by Armelle and Dominique Sialelli. In love with their island, in love with beer, they regretted that no Corsican beer existed, so they decided to invent one. They created a craft beer inspired by their island - a Corsican beer made with a prime regional ingredient, fruit from the bread tree : the sweet chestnut, bringing together Corsican heritage and the history of beer itself, going from the bread tree to liquid bread. The independent family-run brewery was the first craft brewery in the history of Corsica. It is ideally situated above a groundwater table of Acqua Bianca spring water in Furiani (Upper Corsica). In keeping with traditional brewing methods, Brasserie Pietra carefully chooses its raw materials in order to produce very high-quality craft beers inspired by their region’s soil : PIETRA, the brewery’s founding product, is the first beer in the world brewed with malts and Corsican chestnut flour. In 1998, Brasserie Pietra expanded its range with COLOMBA, a white beer flavored with aromatic plants, a beer inspired by the Corsican maquis (Corsican scrubland). Since then, the PIETRA clan has expanded with PIETRA BIONDA, a premium blond lager with chestnut flour, PIETRA ROSSA, a red beer with cherry and raspberry aromas, COLOMBA ROSÉE, a white beer slightly flavored with raspberry and orange aromas, and CORSICAN IPA, the IPA made in Brasserie Pietra.
