VINS D'ALSACE SCHOENHEITZ

Who are we

At the gateway to the Munster Valley, the slopes of Wihr-au-Val rise to an altitude of 550 metres. The granitic soils and extreme vine-growing conditions in these foothills of the Vosges allow the pure, subtle expression of Alsatian grape varieties. Since 1981, the Schoenheitz family has been working these steep slopes with the greatest respect for the terroir, the landscape and biodiversity, with the aim of bringing out the best in the localities that are renowned both in France and internationally: Linsenberg, Herrenreben and Holder. This vineyard of just over 17 hectares, cultivated using sustainable viticulture methods and certified as High Environmental Value since 2017, will be certified Organic in 2023. It is also in 2023 that Henri and Dominique hand over the reins and retire. For health reasons, their son Adrien, who joined them in 2014, is unable to continue the family adventure. That's why, together, they have decided to hand over the estate to two wine professionals, Jérôme Mendelin and Jean-Philippe Manchès, who, like them, love granite terroirs. The aim of this handover is to continue the 'house' style and to continue to promote these exceptional terroirs.
