Who are we

Chateau de Carles is a family wine estate, located in the Fronsac Appellation (right bank of Bordeaux, alongside with Pomerol and Saint-Emilion), owned by the Droulers family. The estate covers 19 hectares of limestone clay vines around the Chateau, 95% Merlot variety (average 35 years of age) moving towards replanting up to 20% of Cabernet Franc. The entire vineyard is led on strict integrated environmentally friendly sustainable principles and is labelled HVE-3 (High Environmental Values). We constantly battled to push for extraordinary quality, and our wines are regularly awarded with golden medals, and are highly rated by wine critics. We produce two still red wines : - Chateau de Carles, our historical wine : a gourmet wine from its youth, with bright fruit and discreet oak. Made from perfectly ripe and carefully sorted grapes, the precision of the fruit and the smoothness of the tannins are the main markers of Château de Carles - Haut-Carles, our super-premium wine with deep dark fruit, smooth touch and silkytannins. Haut-Carles is a plot selection of old vines (naturally giving more concentrated grapes). It is the posterity insurance of the Estate.
