DOMAINE DE MOURCHON
Who are we
We are producers of organically grown wines made from low yielding Grenache and Syrah vines. The estate is set at 350 metres above the Southern Rhône Valley between the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Mont Ventoux and include 32 hectares of vines in the appellation Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret. The old vines were purchased by the McKinlay family in 1998 and the state of the art winery was then built in to the hillside allowing for gravity-flow and natural cooling. The steep- sloped vineyard is predominately clay and limestone which, combined with the microclimate, give the location a terroir of unique quality. Careful viticulture using organic and biodynamic techniques in conjunction with traditional and advanced methods of vinification result in well-structured wines with pronounced fruit aromas and a distinct energy. Our winemaker, Sebastien Magnouac, is from an Armagnac family in South West France and completed his oenology studies in Bordeaux. Since arriving at Domaine de Mourchon over 20 years ago, Sebastien has established a unique signature which have consistently received 90+ reviews from the international press.
