Chateau Roquegrave

Region: Gironde

Who are we

Gallix de Mortillet Vineyard was first established during the Napoleonic era and since 1965 has been part of the Joannon and Lleu family. In 2016 Pierre Yves Joannon took over the management of the vineyard. Pierre Yves studied viticulture and is a qualified oenologist. The vineyard spans 27 hectares. The quality of its “terroir” is indisputable with a vineyard located on one of the highest points of Valeyrac, overlooking the Gironde estuary. It is a terroir with mixed soil between clay, sand and stones. Its wines result from the assembly of 3 main grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. All its wines are bottled on-site at the Château. In 2018 the Château was awarded the High Environmental Value HVE3 certification. Château Roquegrave remains the flagship cuvée of the vineyard, but the entrepreneurial, innovative and creative spirit of Pierre Yves has made it possible to develop brands in order to broaden the range and appeal to new customers. We take pride in being a family run business and a small team that works closely together. We place an emphasis on being accessible and working in partnership with our customers. Our wish is to work more directly with customers, to listen to their needs, and to embrace market changes.
