Origines Mahon 2022 – AOP Graves – 100% Sémillon

Location and Landscape: This 100% Sémillon is produced from vines located near Lieu-Dit Mahon in the village of Pujols-sur-Ciron, several minutes from Sauternes and Langon. "Mahon" is an old French word for poppy or red flower. These plots were selected for their sandy terroir on a deep gravel subsoil, conducive to good hydration and limiting water stress. This allows good development of the grape berries, resulting in a fresh and delicate white wine. Wine Making: From direct pressing. Fermentation and barrel ageing: 8 months. Tasting Notes: This wine is a beautiful pale-yellow colour with green highlights. The expressive bouquet reveals white fruit aromas. A delicate, complex wine on the palate, it displays tremendous balance between floral notes and oaky flavours reminiscent of coconut and vanilla. The finish is well-balanced, fresh and lively, with a lovely long aftertaste.
