Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Vaucrains

The Vines : 100% Pinot Noir
Grapes are crushed at estate and wine is brought to our cellars for ageing after first fermentation in December following crop.
Wine is aged in our 100% new oak barrels.

Origin of grapes: very good domaine located in Nuits Saint Georges from whom we have been buying grapes under contract for a long time.
Vaucrains comes from an old French word-meaning plot with very little fertility (which is very good for wine production)

Sustainable agriculture.
Hand harvest – severe sorting out of grapes in the field and at cellar’s
Wine is aged for 16 months in new oak barrels in our traditional cellars in Savigny les beaune. Slow process for malolactic.
Wine is bottled with no filtration and no fining.
Taste : powerful aroma, with lots red wild fruits. Full body wine with great aging potential (up to 15 years)
Best served over roast lamb, rib steaks and duck.
