LA DIAGONALE D'ARSAC AOC MARGAUX RED 2019
Christy Canterbury Sélection - MW
Award : Best Red Bordeaux
"The eucalyptus note really called to me here. Whether its eucalyptus, cedar or mint, that light green lift smells like Left Bank Bordeaux. Plus, this a fairly elegant wine, which is a hallmark of Margaux.
Boldly spicy on the nose with dark chocolate and ganache, flavors of anise, black cherry and blueberries fan out across the palate. This is densely concentrated with a pleasantly gritty, grainy mouthfeel. Lightly sticky tannins work with vivid acidity to deliver freshness and lift. Eucalyptus pops out on the moderate and lightly drying finish" Christy Canterbury - MW
One of the oldest estates in the Médoc, the Château d'Arsac boasts a turbulent history of more than 900 years. Owned by the sires of Arsac in the 12th century and Thomas de Montaigne, brother of the philosopher, in the 16th century, it was planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of the 18th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Arsac vineyard was the largest in the Médoc. It has been owned by Philippe Raoux since 1986. Château Arsac is also known for its Garden of Contemporary Art Sculptures, which welcomes many visitors annually.
