GIN FINISHED IN ARMAGNAC BARREL

Armagnacs Goudoulin owe their authenticity to a woman of character. Widowed in 1927, Jeanne Goudoulin will run the family estate alone for more than 40 years. It is an exceptional winery with rare vintages, a quality and a remarkable history. She will pass on it to her grandson Christian. He will develop the brand and the activity during many years. In 2009, Michel Miclo, owner of the family Miclo Distillery « G. Miclo », will acquire this property. Had he sensed that one day the complementary of these two craft houses would give birth to this extraordinary gin? MANUFACTURING SECReTS… Alsatian distillers for 3 generations, the Miclo family has managed to preserve, transmit, and enrich their know-how. She developed this gin with the finest ingredients to entrust its refining to our cellar master in Gascony. The still and the « art of distillation » make the character and the typicity of the future gin, its final aromatic palette is coming from the wood of the barrel. For more than 80 years, Veuve Goudoulin has been offering Armagnacs of great finesse. During all these years, large stocks of rare and exceptional old vintages have been stored in our barrels. It is in the same barrels that this gin is refined under the watchful eye of our winemaker and oenologist Aurélien. He signs here an exceptional product from the GERS. Origin : Maceration of berries selected by the Miclo Distillery (gin, coriander, iris root, angelica root, cardamom, grain of paradise, calamus, orange zest) in a neutral alcohol. Double distillation of this maceration with berries in traditional iron still of 1500L. Tasting note : « This gin stands out for its beautiful blond reflections due to the maturing in oak barrels. The nose takes us by its freshness and surprises us by its complexity. Beyond the juniper and orange zest, six spices offer us an exhilarating and dynamic bouquet with beautiful notes of lemon, pepper and slightly camphor. In the mouth, the discreet sweetness reminds us of the stay in the barrel, the spices are fully expressed including citrus zest with a hint of cooking at the end of the mouth like a meringue pie.» Gin Veuve Goudoulin, 43,2%vol Degree of the distillation cup : 75% Distillation time : about 8 hours for each pass Bottling degree : 43.2%vol Refining : in oak barrels containing low-armagnacs 100% folle blanche Reduction of the degree of alcohol with osmosis water to get 43.2% vol Bottle 70cl
