Created by Stephane Derenoncourt, a very influencal winemaker (the Mbappé or Messi of winemaking). Single vineyard wines are made to reflect a single truth: that a wine draws its depth and complexity from the unique conditions, soil and micro-climate from which its vines grow. Many factors will affect the profile of the wine, from the soil type and grape variety to the individual micro-climate, sun exposure, aridity and humidity. On a single estate, there can be dozens of idiosyncratic growing areas ,each of which can be separated and exalted. In partnership with Stéphane Derenoncourt, The Bouey Family made a conscious decision to apply this terroir approach and has identified the best single vineyards in several iconic growing appellations around Bordeaux. The wines are made in collaboration with the growers themselves, and are then blended to create wines of supreme elegance and sensuality. TERROIR: Plot n°9 is the resultof the blending of 4 plots on the Right Bank. Their clay-limestone soils are mainly composed of boulbènes and benefit from a North-South exposure. The average age of the vines on these plots is 20years. TASTING: The nose is intense, with lively aromas of citrus fruit, peach and white flowers. The palate is well-balanced, with expressive fruity notes. Pleasant medium acidity leads to a soft, fresh finish.
