Domaine Vallée des Aigles cuvée Carignan Vieilles Vignes
Drawn from several 75- to 120-year-old plots of Carignan, the Carignan Vieilles Vignes spent a year in vat and barrel (a small proportion new), but it remains stunningly vibrant, fresh, and unencumbered by oak. Raspberry fruit picks up hints of garrigue, green peppercorns and even floral notes, while the full-bodied palate is silky and smooth and the flavors linger on the finish. Even if you’re not a huge Carignan fan, this wine is almost guaranteed to convert you.
