Domaine de Mourchon, AOP Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Séguret, Red Wine, Grande Reserve 2022
A classic Southern Rhône blend of 70% grenache and 30% of syrah, with very low yield, made out of 60 years old vines, grown on steep rocky slopes, this wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels and oak and concrete vats. Full-bodied, but juicy with brisk, vibrant acidity. Remarkably fresh, with subtle violet hints to the blackberry fruit. A tense and upright style. Enjoyably thirst quenching despite its power, for now; it will gain interest in time, and could be very long lived.
