Château Ségonzac 2018
The buildings and the vineyard of Château Segonzac were created in 1887 by Mr. Jean Dupuy, then Minister of Agriculture under the Third Republic, also the founder of the newspaper “Le Petit Parisien” on the eve of the First World War. Later, during the 2nd World War, it was on the bank bordering the property that an English commando landed, whose mission, consisting of sabotaging enemy installations in Bordeaux, was a success. A commemorative plaque affixed to the surrounding wall bears witness to this. The color is an intense dark red. On the nose, the wine is fruity with a hint of tobacco and cinnamon. On the palate, we find black fruit flavors (blackcurrant, blackberry) with a touch of licorice. The wine is complex with well-integrated tannins. The final note is fresh with tobacco flavors.
