Château de Millery
The history of Château de Millery is closely linked to that of Château Figeac, since it belongs to the Manoncourt family. It was purchased in 1942, but its history dates back to World War II, during which Thierry Manoncourt received a second lieutenant's pay, as he was captured in Germany. While waiting for his return, his mother invested this money in a small estate of less than one hectare - 0.82 ha - located on limestone and clay soil, the Château de Millery. Blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 15 months in new barrels (10%) and a second wine (90%). Bursting with juicy aromas of plum, raspberry and blackberry puree. It manages to stay fresh despite the toasted vanilla and licorice, with a polished structure guiding the finish.
