Château Clos du Roy - Fronsac

Clos du Roy is our emblem, located in the village of Saillans, overlooking the Isle Valley, in the heart of the most beautiful clay-limestone terroirs of Fronsadais, whose wines strive to express richness and complexity. Clos du Roy is a beautiful 19th-century Girondine home facing due south. It is backed by older cellars where barrel aging takes place. The quest for balance between delicacy and power guides the precise choices of our team – a blend of Merlot (95%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), gentle pressing in small vertical presses, aging for 14 months in French oak barrels (including 1/3 new barrels).
