The bouchot mussel from the bay of Mont Saint-Michel is the only seafood product to have a Protected Designation of Origin. 

The PDO specifications guarantee an origin, a high meat content and rigorous and regular controls. 

The bay of Mont Saint-Michel is home to the largest tides in Europe and favours the develoment of plankton wich feeds the shellfish. 

The cultivation of mussels at sea, without treatment, is in essence 100% natural. 

The organic label includes a sustainable management plan to limit the impact of the activity on the environment.
