Alain Corcia - Pommard
Soil : Clay, calcareous soil. Land holds a central position in the cote de Beaune. Pommard is one of the most famous A.O.C wines in the whole of France. This Pommard comes from Plot les Vignots, one of the best location at top of the hillside slope. 70% of the plot is 35 years old and 30% over 100 years old. (south exposure) Number of bottles produced : 1900 only Hand picking and sorting out whatever vintage. Destemming – 2week cuvaison Ageing: on lies for 16 months in oak barrels. (Only 25% new oak) Tasting: Bouquet of cherry and blackcurrants, mature wine with character and soft tannins. Gentle spics – Powerful, warm and complex. Serving Advice: Between 14 to 16°C. Over spicy and strongly flavoured meats in particular cooked over sauce like hare, pheasant, marinated meats, and heavy cheeses. Drink by 2028. Advisable to decant recent vintages.
