Alain Corcia - Pommard

 Soil : Clay, calcareous soil. Land holds a central position in the cote de Beaune. Pommard is one of the most famous A.O.C wines in the whole of France.  This Pommard comes from Plot les Vignots, one of the best location at top of the hillside slope. 70% of the plot is 35 years old and 30% over 100 years old. (south exposure)  Number of bottles produced : 1900 only Hand picking and sorting out whatever vintage. Destemming – 2week cuvaison  Ageing: on lies for 16 months in oak barrels. (Only 25% new oak)  Tasting: Bouquet of cherry and blackcurrants, mature wine with character and soft tannins. Gentle spics – Powerful, warm and complex.  Serving Advice: Between 14 to 16°C. Over spicy and strongly flavoured meats in particular cooked over sauce like hare, pheasant, marinated meats, and heavy cheeses. Drink by 2028. Advisable to decant recent vintages.
