Touraine Sauvignon Domaine Desloges
A bright, expressive straw‑yellow hue introduces this Touraine Sauvignon with immediate charm. The first aromas rise vividly from the glass: passion fruit, citrus zest, and a touch of exotic ripeness. With a swirl, the wine reveals greater complexity, layering vibrant grapefruit, fresh lime, and subtle floral notes over the mineral signature of the perruches—the clay‑and‑flint soils that define this corner of the Loire.
On the palate, the wine is round, aromatic, and generous, carried by the natural intensity of Sauvignon Blanc grown in Monthou‑sur‑Cher, next to the Château de Chenonceau. Its texture is supple yet lively, with exotic fruit flavours unfolding over a clean, refreshing finish. The estate, now in the hands of fourth‑generation winemaker Cyril Desloges, farms its 20 hectares sustainably and has been HVE‑certified since the 2019 vintage. A gentle maceration on part of the harvest, cool fermentation, and two months of ageing on fine lees lend the wine both depth and finesse.
This Touraine Sauvignon pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled or sauced fish, and the Loire Valley’s emblematic goat cheeses. Served at around 10°C, it shows its best expression within three to four years.
