DOMAINE GARON
Who are we
Since 1485, Domaine Garon has been deeply rooted in the legendary slopes of Côte-Rôtie. The story begins with Jean Garon, a winemaker in Ampuis, and has continued through generations, each adapting to the challenges of their time while remaining true to these historic vineyards. In the 1980s, Jean-François and Carmen Garon took a bold step by revitalizing the estate’s abandoned terraces, notably replanting the historic plots of La Triote and Lancement. After several years of selling grapes to local merchants, the first Côte-Rôtie bottle vinified by the estate was released in 1995, marking a new chapter in the family’s winemaking journey.
In 2000, Kévin and Fabien, trained in oenology, joined the estate. They officially founded Domaine Garon in 2003 with two hectares of vines and launched the Côte-Rôtie Les Rochins, crafted from brown schist soils. Over the years, the estate has grown and diversified its production, creating the cuvées Les Triotes, Syrah des Collines Rhodaniennes (later Les Grandes Parcelles), Sybarine, and Lancement. Expansion into new terroirs has followed, including Seyssuel, Condrieu, Saint-Péray, Cornas, and the Côtes du Rhône, with a focus on revealing the unique character of each vineyard parcel.
Today, the estate spans over 16 hectares and offers 17 cuvées, combining tradition with innovation. The new generation – Paul, Tom, and Valentine – brings energy and continuity to the domaine, while Delphine contributes organization, warmth, and hospitality. The modern, functional winery embodies the estate’s forward-looking vision, ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
Domaine Garon places great importance on the art of cultivating the land. Soils are carefully worked to maintain natural balance—by horse, hand, or tractor—and grassed where possible, with minimal chemical inputs. Sustainable agriculture is central to the estate’s philosophy, with every action designed to support the vines and express the purest essence of the terroir. The estate seeks the perfect balance of fruit finesse, elegant tannins, and authenticity, crafting wines that are precise, timeless, and true to their origin.
Domaine Garon masterfully combines historical heritage with modernity, family passion with viticultural rigor, building a future where tradition and innovation meet in every vintage.
