ETS JACQUIER MAJOR DE L'ISLE

Who are we

Major de l’Isle is, above all, the story of a Jura family whose sparkling savoir-faire has been passed down for decades. Today, the estate is led by Loïc Jacquier, the third generation to take over. For eleven years, he worked alongside his father before assuming full responsibility in 2022. This gradual transmission - built on repeated gestures, daily learning and shared trust, gave him mastery of every step of the craft.

At Major de l’Isle, everything begins with the delicate art of blending. Working hand in hand with an oenologist, Loïc selects and refines the cuvées so they convey a clear and consistent identity. Then comes the traditional method, the true backbone of the house and a treasured family heritage: pied de cuve, prise de mousse, ageing on laths, riddling, disgorging… A process Loïc now handles with precision. This alliance of patience, discipline and expertise gives Major de l’Isle wines their signature: fine bubbles, balance and a fully expressed profile.

Since 2022, the company has undertaken a major modernisation: a new vat room, new buildings, mechanised equipment, an automated dressing line… all improvements that enhance working comfort and will increase production capacity from 2 to around 5 million bottles per year. Yet Major de l’Isle has never lost sight of what matters most: its human and family spirit. The team remains close-knit, versatile and proud of its work.

In the cellars, six employees ensure the smooth running of production each day. Supported in developing their skills, they are considered the beating heart of the house. At the Château de Quintigny - home to the tasting and retail space, two collaborators complete the team, managing communication, sales, customer reception, administration and accounting. They embody the warm identity of Major de l’Isle, notably through the development of wine tourism.

Until now, Major de l’Isle’s wines were distributed exclusively in France, outside large retail chains, supported by a loyal customer base across the country. With its expanded production capacity, the company now aims to open to the British market - particularly fond of sparkling wines, and to use this tasting as an opportunity to build strong partnerships, introduce its cuvées and establish a long-term presence in the UK.

Through the combination of tradition, innovation and human commitment, Major de l’Isle continues to grow, writing a story that is deeply family-rooted, modern, and resolutely forward-looking.
