LE VIEUX POINTET

Who are we

A FAMILY HISTORY SPANNING THREE GENERATIONS For us, apples and pears are a family affair! We've been growing them since 1998, inherited from our father and received from our grandfather, who planted his first apple trees in 1951. In 2000, we planted the first organic apple trees, followed by pear and plum trees. Sylvain joined the company in 2008 and is in charge of marketing. Our orchards are located in the heart of the golden triangle of southeastern orchards, encompassing the Alpilles, the Luberon, and Mont Ventoux. Here, the Durance plain spreads its clay-loam soil in a sunny climate, resulting in more flavorful and sweeter fruit. The Mistral wind, by drying the orchards, prevents certain diseases and contributes to ideal production conditions. For centuries, this region has been one of the most favorable fruit-growing areas in Europe. We guarantee perfect traceability of our products; the company is Global Gap certified for its orchards and IFS Food High Level certified for its packing house. No pesticides come near our fruit, either during the growing season or after harvest. The compost and manure we use as fertilizers come from local organic farmers, and by-products from our farm are processed in the methanization facility built in 2017 not far from the farm. Defying production habits, a new project was launched in 2017 with the planting of pomegranate and persimmon trees (the persimmon tree). In 2020, we continued our commitment to excellence in our production methods by converting our orchards to biodynamic agriculture and obtaining the Demeter label. Through these approaches, biodynamic agriculture aims to create a more resilient and self-sufficient ecosystem. Our goal is to continue producing healthy fruits while increasing soil fertility and fostering a diverse, self-sufficient, and sustainable environment.
