BORIE LA VITARELE
Who are we
Nestled in a valley surrounded by holm oak forests, meadows, and scrubland, today Borie la Vitarèle is a large estate of 70 hectares of land, of which only 21 hectares (under AOC Saint-Chinian, Languedoc, and IGP Pays d’Hérault) are planted with vines. This human-scale size allows them to carry out artisanal, high-quality work. The practice of natural viticulture (certified ECOCERT since 1998), inspired by biodynamic principles, respects the life of the soil and the plant. Harvesting is done entirely by hand. In the cool cellar, the alchemy of indigenous fermentations takes place through gentle and minimalist vinifications, considered as slow infusions. Since the accidental passing of Jean-François in April 2014, his daughter Camille and her partner Ulrich have taken over the reins of the estate. Since 2017, Camille has been vinifying the wines of Borie la Vitarèle. Together, they continue to create terroir-driven wines that are unique and authentic, reflecting the music of a singular place, inevitably inimitable.
