DOMAINE CHAUME-ARNAUD
Region: Drôme
Who are we
Domaine Chaume-Arnaud is a family-run company founded by Valérie Chaume-Arnaud and her husband, Philippe Chaume, in 1987 in Vinsobres. They quickly embraced biodynamic agriculture in 2004, following empirical trials. Today, their three children have joined the company, continuing the path their parents started. Vinsobres was included in the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation in 1957 and became a cru wine in 2006. This 1,400-hectare appellation stretches over seven kilometers of slopes in the Drôme department, at the foothills of the Alps. Protected from the Mistral wind and Alpine influences by surrounding hills, the region enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The Chaume-Arnaud vineyard is located on calcareous-clayey, stony slopes at an altitude of 400 meters. Domaine Chaume-Arnaud is committed to preserving the purity of the fruit and the freshness imparted by this high-altitude terroir, which is why none of their wines are barrel-aged. The wines are a benchmark of subtlety and elegance: the reds are rounded, velvety, complex, and fruity, while the whites are fresh and remarkably aromatic.
