DOMAINE MOULIN TACUSSEL
Who are we
Domaine Moulin Tacussel is an independent winemaker's wine estate, located in Châteauneuf du Pape, in the South of France. The cellar master, Didier Latour, ensures that he follows the strict rules of the appellation: a yield limited to 35 hectoliters per hectare, manual and selective harvests, a thoughtful blend from the 13 authorized grape varieties (Grenache noir, Grenache blanc , Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Counoise, Muscardin, Vaccarèse, Clairette, Roussane, Bourboulenc, Picpoul blanc and Picardan). To do this, he is surrounded by a team of two permanent employees, an accounting secretary, a sales representative and seasonal workers depending on the time of year (especially for the harvest). If the reputation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is well established, Domaine Moulin Tacussel has been able to enrich the tradition through environmentally friendly cultivation methods. Benefiting from a unique terroir – clay-limestone soil, protected by rolled pebbles and favored by a sunny climate – the 7.5 hectares of Domaine Moulin-Tacussel are spread over 10 plots which allow judicious grape varieties. The Domaine produces 4 wines: 2 whites and 2 reds. Each color is available in a “Tradition” vintage and a “Hommage” vintage. The wines are packaged in bottle (0.75L) or magnum (1.5L). The red wines are aged in oak barrels and/or new demi-muids for a year; white wines in new demi-muids or in stainless steel vats for 6 months. Production amounts to around 20,000 bottles per year, including 3,000 of white wine. To this is added 70 hectoliters produced in bulk/trading. The Domaine welcomes visitors for tastings and visits to the cellar (by appointment): the discovery of the two underground vaulted cellars located in the heart of the village is a memorable moment! Its participation in numerous trade fairs throughout the year (in France and abroad) gives it the opportunity to promote its wines and meet its clientele of individuals and professionals. He also won some distinctions (2019 silver medal at the Lyon Independent Winegrowers Show, for example). The estate exports around 20% of its production to countries such as the United States, Germany and Belgium. He also creates serious partnerships with restorers/hotelkeepers.
