Who are we
The Papa Rouyo distillery was born out of a collective of planters from Guadeloupe, themselves descended from generations of farmers. The uniqueness of our rums is due to a manufacturing process requiring 48 to 72 hours (fermentation + distillation), and the use of traditional methods for cutting the long cane. The cane is cut by hand and the rum is distilled in our iron stills. We are the only distillery in Guadeloupe to use this system. La distillerie artisanale Papa Rouyo est née d’un collectif de planteurs de Guadeloupe, eux-mêmes issus de générations d’agriculteurs. L’unicité de nos rhums s'explique par un processus de fabrication nécessitant 48 à 72 heures (fermentation + distillation), et l'utilisation de méthodes artisanales pour la coupe de la canne longue. Le rhum est distillé dans nos alambics à repasse. Nous sommes les seuls à utiliser ce système de distillation en Guadeloupe.
