Who are we
The Nouvelle Compagnie des Détergents et du Savon de Marseille (NCDSM) produces a complete range of soaps and detergents in powder or liquid for its own brands, and customers around the world. NCDSM owns Fer à Cheval, the oldest soap factory founded in 1856 and located in the heart of Marseille. It has been making since 1856 the genuine Marseille soap in traditional cauldrons, passing on the ancestral know-how from generation to generation. It is today one of the very last manufacturers in France of the traditional Marseille soap. Fer à Cheval is the founding member of the UPSM, the Union of Marseille Soap Professionals, which promotes the genuine Marseille soap. NCDSM has a second business unit in detergency and can design new applications of detergents for professionals.
