Who are we

Saint-Tropez is named after the Roman officer Torpez This sentence is printed on every front label in french and in english to let understand the reason why we selected TORPEZ as brand name. Torpez is known in Pisa in Tuscany and in Genoa in Liguria as San Torpé. According to legend, the body of Torpez was set adrift in a small open boat on the Arno River in Pisa and at long last, and after many strange adventures, the tiny craft was cast up on the shores of the present town of St-Tropez in Provence. TORPEZ is the new wine brand from an outstanding jewel of a vineyard and terroir located on Cap de Saint-Tropez. - Unique vineyard, terroir and a new winery : ----- shallow and stony soils on crystalline rocks, granites, gneiss, ----- a mediterranenean climate moderated by the seabreezes due to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the Mediterranean Sea which are surrounding our small plots of vines or gardens of vines located on the Cap of St-Tropez, ----- rare & local grape varieties, the Tibouren, Calitor, surrounded by umbrella pines, olive trees, almond trees, fig trees, in the middle of sumptuous natural landscapes.
