Who are we

The Berrye Fortress is a medieval fortress listed as a historical monument, surrounded by 12 hectares of vineyards under the Saumur appellation, notably Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame and Saumur Berrie, appellations that showcase the region’s best terroirs. Having fallen into disuse for years, the estate has experienced a resurgence since its takeover in 2020 by the Colinet family, who are committed to reviving the vineyard and producing wines worthy of this exceptional site. On this unique terroir, rooted in a tuffeau bedrock where vines have been cultivated for over eight centuries, we practice organic farming in a manner that respects both the site and its biodiversity. Our Chenin and Cabernet wines benefit from extended aging and minimal input usage, all enhanced by the setting of our ancient troglodytic cellars.
