FAMILY WINERY : FROM FATHER TO DAUGHTERS In the heart of the Loire Valley, Philippe Pain and his daughters Clothilde and Honorine produce authentic Chinon wines with exceptional character and quality. Here you can find seductive easy drinking roses, convivial medium bodied reds, and of course, our white wines grown in smaller quantities and found nestling amongst the Cabernet Franc vines, beloved by of Rabelais and so typical of this region. This dynamic family runs the estate’s vineyard, combining pleasure and professionalism ; it aims to remain accessible and authentic thus stick to the family’s beliefs and values. A growing number of visitors are welcome to the cellar every year. This is why Philippe Pain has built a place where people can share and exchange, ensuring that the wines of Chinon maintain their generous and convivial reputation. Domaine de la Commanderie is a family estate founded in 1982 by Philippe Pain, a passionate winemaker. The winery is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, at the bottom of Chinon appellation’s hills. Philippe and his daughters Clothilde and Honorine grow the vineyards according to the tradition and with respect to the environment. AUTHENTIC WINES, AUNIQUE EXPERTISE Surrounded by Cabernet Franc and Chenin, the estate produces friendly wines as well as exceptional cuvées. Macerations enhance the varietal expression of Loire Valley grapes, in order to underline soil identity. Aged in carefully selected barrels, the wines of the domain amaze by their finesse and their exoticism. Following the rhythm of the vegetative cycle of the vine, and and practicing winemaking with deep respect to the grapes, Domaine de la Commanderie settled successfully within Chinon appellation.
