In 1982, Montpellier and Chengdu became the first Sino-French international sister cities. "The Montpellier Wine Platform" is an official wine platform created by the Government of the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and the EU Project Innovation Centre In September 2012 for expand the Influence of Montpellier wine in China.The platform integrated together with 52 wineries in Montpellier and nearly 300 products.
