VINS ET VALLONS - DOMAINE DES PIERRETTES

Who are we

The Domaine des Pierrettes is located in Touraine on a terrace bordering the Loire River in Rilly sur Loire, a couple of hours south of Paris. This magnificent wine growing region is also very rich in history and some of the most famous royal chateaux are just a few miles away (Chambord, Chenonceaux, Amboise). This area was home to Leonardo da Vinci, he lived 10km away from our vineyard and his mansion can still be visited nowadays. In addition, during the Renaissance many other Italian artists travelled through the area invited by the kings and contributed to the rich architecture of the Valley. The domaine covers over 35 hectares all planted with vines aged up to 45 years old. The grape varietals at the domaine are typical of this area of France and thrive in our flint and pebble clay soil (pierrettes means little stones in French). We produce a wide variety of white, red, rosé and sparkling wines. The king of grapes in Touraine is Sauvignon blanc, we also grow côt, gamay, cabernet franc, and chenin.
