CHÂTEAU LES VIGNALS

Region: OCCITANIE

Who are we

Le Domaine Les Vignals is located in Cestayrols, at the heart of the Gaillac vineyard in the southwest of France (a 50-minute drive from Toulouse). Historically, it was one of the first estates to work organically in the 1980s. After briefly returning to conventional farming methods, a new team committed to an agriculture that respects the soil, the land, the terroir, and the environment in general. These efforts were rewarded with the Organic Agriculture certification in 2013, followed in 2020 by the Biodynamic Demeter label. Since 2022, we’ve also been offering some cuvées certified “Vin Méthode Nature.” The estate covers 70 hectares of vines and 20 hectares of other crops (cereals, fruit trees, and forest), along with four beehives and a flock of around 20 sheep. Deeply attached to our terroir, we mainly work with local grape varieties such as Braucol and Duras (red), Mauzac, and Loin de l’Œil (white), offering wines with distinctive personalities and flavors characteristic of the Gaillac vineyard. We produce wines under the AOP Gaillac and IGP Côtes du Tarn appellations, allowing us to offer five ranges of wines: ‘SOIF-ART’ – our everyday wines under IGP Côtes du Tarn ‘HERBE FOLLE’ – our AOP Gaillac range ‘LA FAUVETTE’ – our Reserve range ‘L’INNOCENT’ – our sparkling wines made using the traditional method Certified ‘VIN METHODE NATURE’ – with no added sulfites We vinify in stainless steel tanks, sandstone and clay amphorae, as well as oak and acacia barrels. As an independent winemaker, all bottling is done on-site at the Domaine throughout the year. In 2023, 280,000 bottles were produced in various formats (500 ml, 750 ml, and 1.5 L). Eighty percent of our sales are in France, with the remaining 20% exported. Having started recently, our export market is experiencing strong growth; our wines are now available in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Japan, and Quebec (via the SAQ). Both our sales team and winemaking team are multilingual and bring a wealth of skills from their prior professional experiences in France and abroad. We strive to offer new ways to discover our wines and the beautiful landscapes of Cestayrols. Twelve years ago, we launched the first “Apéro Concert” evening, which grows each year, attracting nearly 9,000 people in the summer of 2024.
