DOMAINE DUFFAU

Who are we

We grow 15 ha of vines of which half is destined for wine making at the estate while the remaining grapes are sold in bulk to a cooperative. This system allows for a good flexibility in term of supply – we can adapt our production to the demand – and in term of stock management. After several years of experimentation, we started officially organic farming in 2007 and we got the organic label in 2020. However we go beyond organic specifications, in particular we make and use our own slurries and extracts of nettle, horsetail, fern and comfrey. Levels of sulphites are usually low in our wines, for more information see the technical data sheets available for downloading from our website. To achieve this result we use selected yeasts and also we have a gained a good experience in the use of non-saccharomyces yeasts. We focus on the local types of grapes such as Braucol, Loin de l’oeil or Mauzac since we believe that they are the DNA of South West French wines. We speak English
