DISTILLERIE POISSON RHUM DU PÈRE LABAT

Who are we

Company created in 1726 by Mrs. Poisson, who created a small sugar refinery and developed the estate, which has 350 hectares in total. Becomes a distillery in the 19th century and takes its name from its rum brand at the beginning of the 20th century, Père Labat. The inventor of modern rum who transformed the tafia into a guildive with the Creole column. We make rum the old-fashioned way, cane cut by hand, we use water from our source for grinding and distillation. Long fermentation of 3 to 5 days, distilled in the historic Creole column of Père Labat, distilled at 70.7°. To avoid losing our aromas that we took 3 days to do. We only do white, amber and old. Our old wines age in our Tennessee Whiskey barrels. The latter are put on the market only from 8 years.
