The Château de Brossay, built in the 16th century, became part of the Deffois family after Alexis Deffois bought the wine estate from the Marquis de Contade in 1919. His grandchildren, Hubert and Raymond, developed the vineyard, which today covers 52 hectares, located in the Haut Layon, at the source of the river. Today, Benjamin Grandsart and Nicolas Tamboise, Raymond's sons-in-law, perpetuate the tradition and represent the 4th generation of winegrowers at the head of this family estate.
