The regional federation of agri food industries for the South Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region (ARIA Sud) represents and supports the regional food industrial sector. ARIA Sud is a member of the ANIA (the National Federation of Food Industries) and is dedicated to the competitiveness of companies, the development of employment and the acquisition of new markets. Since 1989, it offers services adapted to the needs of regional companies and contributes to their development through a dynamic network.  

It has several missions: :
- To promote regional agri-food companies in France and worldwide and to highlight their products, innovations and values
- To develop the interest of the food industries jobs in the South of France, especially for the targeted candidates
- Federate and coordinate all the stakeholders and tools for a coordinated approach to supporting the regional agri-food industries
- To be the representative of the agri-food industries of the Southern Region towards the decentralized services of the State, local authorities, regional trade unions and employers' representatives, the media and, more generally, all partners in the food chain
- To represent the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur South Region territory on the national level to ensure that the specific features of regional agri-food VSEs and SMEs are considered. 

Aria Sud's actions are based on strong ambitions:
- To conduct a policy of local services
- To play a multi-sectoral federating role
- To boost the region's image

The South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region is a geographically and culturally diverse area with a wide variety of terroirs that have influenced its culinary heritage, which today is full of colours, smells and flavours, as well as a wide range of agri-food companies, combining tradition and modernity. 

The Mediterranean diet, listed as a cultural and intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2010, is more than ever a societal response in line with consumers' search for healthy and enjoyable food and with the nutritional recommendations of public authorities and experts.
The food industry is a major sector of the economy of the Southern Region, relying on a historical know-how, a network of efficient actors, and a strong and positive international image. With more than 1,000 firms, the regional food industrial sector has a turnover of nearly 8 billion euros. It is mainly constituted of small and medium-sized companies alongside national and international leaders who have been established in the region for a long time.  

The South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region stands out for its important weight in the activities linked to the processing and conservation of "fruit and vegetables" and "prepared dishes and condiments", but also to the "beverages" and "cocoa, chocolate, confectionery, sugar, tea, coffee" sectors. But the sectors of activity are even more diversified with the existence of renowned companies and brands.
