Rich in biodiversity unique in the world, it is not uncommon in Madagascar to discover unique and little-known trees: this is the case of Mokarana. Measuring up to 6 meters high, this endemic species hides small green buds under its large leaves that bees come to collect their nectar. With slightly tangy citrus notes, Mokarana honey is sweet and creamy. It is mainly eaten for breakfast but is also excellent as a marinade with seafood. Its large leaves, 60 cm long, make this tropical and endemic tree 3 m high unique. Its flowering begins in October for a harvest in November.
