Although it translates directly to country apricot in French it is only its color that is similar to the apricot of temperate countries. It can weigh up to 4kg. It is grey-brown with rough skin and it typically has two
to four stones. Its flesh is orange, firm and generous. Mamey is tangy, aromatic, bitter, and sweet.
In rum, it has an aged rum, flavor that is woody and an aftertaste that is a combination of aroma, sweetness and strength.
