Lavender honey, a real nectar
Blue lavender as far as the eye can see, blazing sun, bright blue sky : an idyllic postcard. These lavender fields offer a splendid landscape, a true jewel of French heritage, especially between June and July, just before the harvest.
At the time of flowering, in the lavender fields which perfume the air, the buzzing of the bees is incessant. The foragers are all hard at work collecting this nectar from the flowers and bringing it back to the hives installed nearby. It is true that each spike of lavender contains nearly 120 flowers and that the flowering period is quite short. The foragers are helped by the ventilating workers who must maintain the hive at a constant temperature and manage the humidity level. There is no shortage of work for the bees to transform this nectar into an emblematic honey of a quality sought after by amateurs.
The benefits of French lavender honey
During Antiquity, the Romans already used lavender with multiple therapeutic properties. Like all honeys, lavender honey has healing properties and is also a powerful remedy for headaches and insomnia. This product is also recognized for its antispasmodic, antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It allows you to calm wet coughs. It is also used as a treatment to treat influenza, bronchitis, burns, angina and hypertension.
