Grand Jas
Ref. :
21c160ae
“Jas” is a Provençal word designating the large stone sheepfolds of yesteryear. One of them, which served as a resting place for herds transhumanting from the Crau to the Alps and vice versa, overlooks one of our oldest plots.
Plot selection, it is all the intensity of aroma and substance of the Alpes de Haute Provence.
Puddingue characteristic of the Valensole plateau (rolled pebbles caught in a limestone matrix). Poor and stony soil but deep and particularly lively.
WINEMAKING
- Maceration for 25 days in concrete vats
- Malolactic fermentation then aging for 12 months in barrels (sometimes 24 for Syrah)
- Bottled without filtration or fining
