Fruit Défendu rouge, Vin de France, 2024

Le Fruit Défendu originates from a distinguished plot of 60-year-old Cinsault vines. In the glass, the wine presents a brilliant medium ruby hue. The nose reveals an enticing bouquet of small red berries and a hint of citrus peel, delicately seasoned with a touch of white pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, eschewing the heaviness of overly fruity wines, and instead offering elegant flavors of ripe red raspberries complemented by a subtle touch of plum, thanks to the inclusion of 10% young-vine Syrah. The finish is long and vibrant, with a perfectly balanced hint of thick-skin tannic structure.
