The color is such a deep red that it appears almost black. The nose is beginning to open up. One must wait and aerate the wine to fully grasp its remarkable potential. Aromas of garrigue, black olive, licorice, and pine gradually emerge. On the palate, the wine lives up to its promise, with a power that is present yet well controlled. The finish is delicately spiced.
