How to attract foreign investors to France?

This is the goal of the Choose France summit, which has been held every year since 2018 at the initiative of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron. This meeting aims to promote the economic attractiveness of France, to strengthen ties with international partners and to support the development of French companies abroad.

On May 13, 2024, the 7th Choose France summit brought together nearly 200 leaders of foreign companies from 40 different countries at the Château de Versailles. The chosen theme was "France, Land of Champions", to highlight the strengths of France in the fields of innovation, ecological transition, competitiveness and diversity.

Shining a light on investments projects

The summit was an opportunity to announce 56 investment projects in France, representing a total amount of 15 billion euros and the creation of 10,000 jobs. Among these projects, we can mention:

• An investment of €4 billion by Microsoft, the largest to date in France, to support French growth in the new artificial intelligence economy.
• Pfizer planning to invest over €500 million in France over the next five years, through ambitious public-private partnerships focused on innovation.
• More than €1.2 billion in upcoming investments by Amazon in France, which will result in the creation of over 3,000 direct permanent jobs.
• Astrazeneca announced an investment of €365 million to expand the Dunkirk site, creating 100 additional jobs.
• India, honored as the guest country at the Summit, was the centerpiece of a round table involving French and Indian companies.

Persepectives for the upcoming events and celebrations

Finally, the Choose France 2024 summit was an opportunity to prepare for the major events to come in France, such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, the Universal Exhibition of 2025,as well as the notable personalities and landmarks featured in the “Make it Iconic” campaign. These events will be showcases of French excellence and opportunities to strengthen international cooperation.
