Château Segonzac la Forêt AOP Bordeaux Red 2021
Château Segonzac la Forêt Red 2021 is a blend of the typical grapes varieties from the Bordeaux area: 45% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc. Grapes are selected from the best vines of the family property: clusters are meticulously picked, destemmed on the plot, and then crushed when they arrive at the winery. Each grape variety is vinified separately. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to optimize the extraction of color, fruit aromas and tannins. For this cuvée, the wines have aged for a minimum of 9 months: a small part in oak barrels and the remaining part in contact with French oak staves. The final blend results in a full-body wine, balanced and elegant, with well-integrated tannins. The oak enhances the fruit, gives more roundness and reinforces the structure of the wine. As for the tasting notes, this wine has an intense red color, with purple reflections; the nose is very expressive, revealing a bouquet of powerful fruity aromas (blueberries, blackberries) combined with hints of vanilla, cocoa, and mocha; the mouth is fresh and balanced, with aromas of red fruits and slightly smoky notes, leaning on fine and chalky tannins. We recommend pairing this red wine with a fish stew, a tenderloin, a mushrooms risotto, aged cheeses or fruit cakes.
